Job summary

ABB is seeking a Buyer - ELSP in Mebane, NC to purchase materials per forecast and production schedules. You will manage POs, coordinate with suppliers, and support inventory flow while adhering to corporate policies. Strong Excel and SAP experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Materials, Planning, Purchasing, Inventory Management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Advanced Excel, Outlook) and purchasing software, SAP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Place purchase orders with suppliers for production material as required by forecast and the production schedule.
• Monitor status of open purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery of all materials, including timely resolution and communication.
• Expedite or defer orders as required based on schedule/inventory discrepancies and/or adjustments.
• Determine and establish optimal inventory levels based on forecast, demand variation and material lead times.
• Coordinate material flows throughout product/BOM changes, obsolescence, and introduction of new suppliers and/or materials.
• Provide help & support to internal materials areas such as Receiving, Warehouse & Inventory Management to ensure proper transactions are done in the system.
• Manage and resolve issues regarding PO due to invoice discrepancies, returns and/or quality issues within the supplier data base.
