The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced Buyer to join our manufacturing team and report to the Manufacturing Manager. This role is responsible for purchasing electronic components, PCBs, raw materials, and manufacturing services while ensuring competitive pricing, quality, and on-time delivery.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of manufacturing purchasing experience, strong knowledge of electrical components and PCB fabrication, and experience with Costpoint and AS9100.

Responsibilities:
  • Create and manage purchase orders based on production and procurement requirements.
  • Source and purchase electronic components, PCBs, and related manufacturing services.
  • Serve as the primary purchasing point of contact for PCB fabrication and contract manufacturing.
  • Prepare RFQs, evaluate supplier proposals, compare pricing, and negotiate cost and delivery.
  • Monitor supplier performance, lead times, and open orders; proactively expedite critical materials.
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Warehouse teams to ensure material availability.
  • Support supplier qualification, surveys, audits, and ongoing supplier performance improvement.
  • Maintain approved supplier information and support alternate-source development.
  • Review warehouse inventory and purchasing requirements to prevent shortages and excess inventory.
  • Ensure purchase orders include applicable specifications, quality requirements, customer contract flow-downs, and terms and conditions.
  • Support control of externally provided products and services in accordance with AS9100 requirements.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records and supplier information within Costpoint.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of Buyer/Purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience sourcing electronic/electrical components and PCBs.
  • Knowledge of PCB fabrication and contract manufacturing/assembly.
  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint or a comparable ERP/MRP system.
  • Knowledge of P2P.
  • General knowledge of ESD practices and electronic components.
  • Experience working in an AS9100 or similar quality environment.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build effective, long-term relationships with suppliers and internal teams.

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

  • $51,800-$106,200
