Job summary

Nissan is seeking a Buyer 2, Powertrain in Franklin, TN to manage supplier relationships and lead sourcing for production and non-production parts. You will ensure supplier quality, cost and delivery while supporting uninterrupted production through cross-functional collaboration and effective issue resolution.

The role requires 3–5 years of related experience and a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience). On-site work in Franklin, TN and about 20% travel are expected.

• Associate’s degree, plus 4 additional years of experience, is acceptable.

Come Drive Innovation with Us. We are currently looking for a Buyer 2, Powertrain to join our team in Franklin, TN.

In this role, you’ll manage supplier relationships and lead sourcing activities to procure production and non-production parts, services, and commodities across Smyrna, Mexico, and Canton. You’ll ensure suppliers meet Nissan’s standards for quality, cost, and delivery while supporting uninterrupted production by coordinating with internal teams and resolving supply issues. Additionally, you’ll contribute to operational support and help drive brand value and long-term profitable growth.

A Day in the Life

• Leads pricing negotiations and establishes cost-effective agreements for assigned commodities.
• Identifies, evaluates, and develops suppliers to meet current and future production needs.
• Ensures suppliers meet quality, cost, and delivery expectations through performance management and analysis.
• Manages contracts, purchase orders, and supplier records while maintaining organized documentation.
• Drives cost reduction initiatives and coordinates cross-functional efforts to ensure uninterrupted supply and resolve issues.

Who We’re Looking For

• Required: 3-5 years of relevant and related experience.
• Bachelor’s degree OR 8 years of equivalent experience in lieu of a degree required.
• If Associate’s degree, must have 4 additional years of equivalent experience.
• Working knowledge of MS Office.
• Ability to work on‑site in Franklin, TN.
• Ability to travel approximately 20%.
