Job summary

Textron in Williamsport seeks a Buyer to maintain flow of parts with Procurement, Quality, and Engineering, driving improvements in Quality, Delivery and Cost.

The role involves planning, scheduling, and expediting parts, placing purchase orders and negotiating prices under supervision. Strong procurement and leadership skills are needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with two years experience or 3 years related work in a manufacturing environment.
• Solid background in Procurement and related supply chain disciplines.
• Experience with manufacturing systems, preferably Oracle.
• Good manufacturing business acumen, including 6 Sigma methodologies.
• Strong leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for planning and rescheduling of assigned parts in Oracle system.
• Places purchase orders with suppliers.

• Negotiates pricing as required with oversight from the Procurement manager.
• Liaises with suppliers to resolve quality and delivery issues.
• Works with the Accounting department to resolve invoice/payment discrepancies.
• Responsible for inventory reduction planning.
