Job summary

Regional Homebuilder is seeking a driven Purchasing Agent to own vertical purchasing operations from bid through contract, with direct exposure to leadership and impact on field execution.

You will drive end-to-end procurement, evaluate bids, negotiate contracts, and track budgets to ensure trades and materials are locked in for seamless project delivery.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of procurement/purchasing within residential homebuilding or commercial construction.
• Experience with regional or national production homebuilders is a strong plus.
• Strong understanding of residential construction blueprints, trade scopes, and ground-up vertical build processes.
• Proven track record in vendor negotiation, contract management, and budget tracking.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel; familiarity with construction/homebuilding management systems.

Responsibilities

• Bid, evaluate, and negotiate bids from subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors; issue purchase orders, contracts, and change orders.
• Audit construction plans, scopes, and specs; track job costs and market fluctuations to protect margins.
• Partner with Superintendents to align material arrivals and trade scheduling; onboard local subcontractors.
• Resolve trade scope gaps, pricing discrepancies, and delivery issues before they hit the field.

A premier regional residential homebuilder is seeking a driven, hands-on Purchasing Agent to take ownership of vertical purchasing operations. Whether you are an established Purchasing Agent or a high-performing Assistant Purchasing Agent from a production builder ready to step into a high-visibility, full-ownership role, this position offers direct exposure to company leadership and real project impact.

You will drive the end-to-end procurement process evaluating subcontractor bids, negotiating contracts, tracking construction budgets, and ensuring trades and materials are locked in for seamless field execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Bid & Contract Management: Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate bids from subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors. Issue purchase orders, contracts, and change orders.
• Budget & Cost Control: Audit construction plans, scopes of work, and specs. Track job costs, monitor market fluctuations in labor/materials, and protect construction margins.
• Trade & Field Operations: Partner directly with Superintendents to align material arrivals and trade scheduling. Identify and onboard high-quality local subcontractors.
• Vendor & Dispute Resolution: Resolve trade scope gaps, pricing discrepancies, and delivery issues before they hit the field.
