Job summary

Framatome in Lynchburg, VA is seeking a Buyer to manage procurement needs, review purchases, and coordinate with managers to ensure on-time, cost-effective sourcing for critical projects.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's degree in business or finance, familiarity with procurement processes, and experience with purchase orders, vendor records, and reporting. SAP experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that project procurement requirements are understood and that procured products and services meet lead-time, price and quality requirements.
• Review and approve purchases up to a specified dollar amount.
• Engage and coordinate with line managers to implement appropriate commodity/supply tasks.
• Participate in supplier relationship activities including selection, rationalization, development, performance measurement and recognition.
• Perform basic spend analysis and provide input to supply and contract negotiation strategies.
• Input and maintain relevant data in Purchasing information systems.
• Gather and report metrics to assess effectiveness of procurement operations.
• Continue to develop business acumen and customer service with colleagues and customers.

What You'll Do Day-To-Day

What You'll Bring

Preferred Skills

• Solid understanding of supply chain management principles, practices, and methodologies.
• Ideally 1-3 years of experience in procuring goods and services or working with supplier-facing systems.
• 1-2 years of experience working with the SAP enterprise system.
• 1-3 years of required experience in commodity management.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated experience in developing procurement plans, leading negotiations, and managing contracts.

Total Rewards Package

• Salary: $57,000-$74,000 and may also include annual incentives and performance bonuses. The base salary range is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
