Job summary

Leonardo DRS Naval Electronics is seeking a Buyer to execute CPSR-compliant purchase orders based on approved requisitions, proposals, bids, and related documents for services and materials. The role supports the purchasing function across Johnstown, PA or Largo, FL with a 9/80 schedule and remote/hybrid telework options.

Responsibilities include supplier negotiation, maintaining records, cost analysis, and ensuring compliance with procurement laws.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and 2+ years of experience in Purchasing.
• Ability to understand military specs and read blue prints.
• Ability to understand and adhere to all laws pertaining to procurement, contracts, breach by contract, etc.
• Knowledge of price and cost analysis.

Responsibilities

• Execute/purchase orders based on approved requisitions, RFIs, bids and other documents for services and materials.
• Perform a variety of general tactical duties as required to support purchasing activities.
• Follow through on supplier changes (Engineering Change Notices).
• Assist in negotiations and apply knowledge of contract law to assess terms and minimize risk.
• Maintain professional relationships with suppliers and resolve issues related to terms and conditions of service agreements.
• Understand demand/spend profile for commodity areas and provide information as necessary.
• Track and report cost savings or avoidances.
• Maintain records and files of vendor agreements and related procurement records.
• Manage supplier issues (cost, quality, delivery, customer service).
• Serve as primary contact between DRS personnel and assigned suppliers.

Job Summary

Execute/generate CPSR-compliant purchase orders based on approved requisitions, requests for proposals, bids and other similar and necessary documents related to the purchasing of services and materials.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of general tactical duties as required to support purchasing activities
• Follow through on any supplier changes (Engineering Change Notices)
• May assist in negotiations and apply basic knowledge of commercial contract law and guidelines, practices and requirements to assess, plan and negotiate best terms and conditions and to minimize risk
