Role Description
The Buyer is responsible for independentlymanaging the procurement of materials and services required to support ComluxAmerica’s MRO, aircraft completion, and production operations. The positionmanages assigned suppliers and purchasing activity from requisition throughdelivery and resolution, with increased responsibility for supplierperformance, pricing, delivery, quality, and issue resolution.
The Buyer independently evaluates purchasingrequirements, negotiates routine commercial terms, manages suppliercommitments, and coordinates cross-functional resolution of material andsupplier issues. The position serves as a knowledgeable procurement resourceand may provide guidance and support to Buyer I personnel.
Essential Job Functions
- Independently reviews purchasingrequirements and places purchase orders in accordance with operationalpriorities, specifications, approved suppliers, and established procurementprocedures.
- Manages assigned supplier relationships andmonitors supplier performance related to delivery, quality, pricing,responsiveness, and overall service.
- Negotiates pricing, delivery commitments,payment terms, and other routine commercial requirements within establishedauthority levels.
- Proactively manages supplier lead times andcommitments to support MRO, completion, and production schedules.
- Leads expediting activities for critical,shortage, and schedule-sensitive materials and coordinates recovery plans withsuppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Identifies potential supply disruptions anddevelops solutions to minimize impact to production, maintenance, and aircraftcompletion schedules.
- Coordinates with Engineering, Planning,Production Control, Quality Assurance, Inventory Management, Warehousing, andother departments to resolve purchasing and supplier issues.
- Reviews supplier performance data andidentifies recurring delivery, quality, pricing, or service issues requiringcorrective action.
- Coordinates supplier non-conformanceresolution and follows corrective actions through completion.
- Conducts cost and price analysis andidentifies opportunities for cost savings, cost avoidance, lead-time reduction,and improved commercial terms.
- Documents and reports purchasing savings,cost avoidance, supplier performance, and significant cost escalations.
- Reviews and resolves invoice discrepancies,purchase order variances, pricing differences, and supplier documentationissues.
- Maintains accurate purchasing, supplier,pricing, lead-time, and performance information within company systems.
- Supports supplier qualification, evaluation,and ongoing supplier performance reviews.
- Assists with sourcing activities, quoteevaluations, competitive bidding, and supplier selection for assignedrequirements.
- Supports procurement process improvementsand identifies opportunities to improve purchasing efficiency, supplierperformance, and material availability.
- Provides guidance and assistance to Buyer Ipersonnel on purchasing processes, supplier issues, expediting, and problemresolution.
- Ensures purchasing activities comply withcompany procedures, quality requirements, applicable regulations, andestablished approval authorities.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications, Education andExperience
- Three (3) or more years of progressivepurchasing or procurement experience preferred.
- Experience in aerospace, aviation, MRO,manufacturing, or another technically complex operating environment preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain,Purchasing, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent education andexperience may be considered.
- Demonstrated experience managing suppliers,purchase orders, delivery commitments, and pricing negotiations.
- Experience with ERP, purchasing, inventory,or supply-chain management systems.

- Strong working knowledge of purchasing andprocurement processes.

- Ability to analyze pricing, lead times,supplier performance, and purchasing data.

- Ability to effectively coordinate complexissues across multiple departments.
- Strong written and verbal communicationskills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office andpurchasing/ERP systems.
- Ability to provide guidance and technicalsupport to less experienced Buyers.
- Strong attention to detail and ability tomaintain accurate procurement records.
- Ability to work independently whileexercising sound judgment within established authority.
Work Environment
This position is primarilybased in an office environment and may require occasional time in an aircrafthangar or production environment. The role may involve:

- Walking betweenoffice, hangar, and production areas as needed
