Job summary

Medline Industries, LP in Arlington Heights, IL is seeking a procurement professional to analyze, plan and execute purchase orders with both international and domestic vendors, and to provide direction to expeditors.

You will prepare requisitions in SAP and Coupa, forecast demand, negotiate capacities and coordinate supplier shipping to meet production schedules while maintaining accurate SAP MRP parameters.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience in lieu of degree.
• Experience with SAP and Coupa systems; analyze data and communicate with vendors.
• Proficient in MS Word with advanced formatting (headers, tables).
• Proficient in MS Excel (SUM, borders, charts, wrap text, sorting, headers/footers).
• Strong numeric skills for discounts, percentages and volume.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for Raw Materials, MRO and Services in SAP and Coupa.
• Predict future item consumption to plan Purchase Orders; manage POs to meet demand.
• Negotiate and coordinate production capacities and supplier shipping; ensure supply and scheduling.
• Alert division staff of potential supply issues; escalate urgent issues; maintain APO and SAP MRP parameters.
• Review reports to ensure inventory, service and goals are met; manage PO quantities and shipments.
• Coordinate with expeditors to meet shipment and documentation requirements.
• Review sourcing and quota arrangements to ensure correct sourcing for procurement.
• Inform senior management of any problem situations and provide solutions.

Job Description

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for the procurement of Raw Materials, MRO and Services in SAP and Coupa.
• Predict future item consumption to plan Purchase Orders. Manage PO’s to meet demand by reviewing historical data and SNP/MRP/Forecast requirements.
• Negotiate and coordinate production capacities and manufacturing requirements. Direct supplier shipping to ensure sufficient supply to customers, manageable monthly turnover, minimal surplus charges and consistent production scheduling.
• Alert division staff of potential supply issues. Escalate urgent issues. Maintain APO and SAP MRP parameters.
• Review daily/weekly/monthly reports to ensure inventory, service, surplus and other goals are met. Manage PO quantities, shipment and delivery dates to ensure accuracy of MRP requirements. Ship confirmations to customers.
• Coordinate with expeditors to ensure factories meet shipment and documentation requirements
• Review sourcing and quota arrangements to ensure correct sourcing for procurement.
• Inform senior management of any problem situations. Provide solutions as appropriate.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education

• Bachelor’s degree, or relevant experience in lieu of degree.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

• Ability to assimilate diverse information and communicate across internal departments and external vendors.
• Basic skills of SAP and Coupa systems
• Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Word (for example: inserting headers, page breaks, page numbers and tables and/or adjusting table columns).
• Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using SUM function, setting borders, setting column width, inserting charts, using text wrap, sorting, setting headers and footers and/or print scaling).
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages and volume.
• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and statistics in the interpretation and relationships in SAP.

PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education

• Bachelor’s degree, or relevant experience in lieu of degree.

Work Experience

• At least 2 years related experience.
• Experience with SAP, Access and/or FoxPro.
• Experience with APIC CPIM.

The anticipated salary range for this position:

$67,000.00 - $101,000.00 Annual

The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. This role is bonus and/or incentive eligible. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
