Job summary

Food & Paper Supply, a long-standing distributor of food and paper products in the Alsip area, is seeking a Buyer to manage procurement for resale. The role requires independent work, while also thriving in a team environment.

Expect responsibility for inventory oversight, trend analysis, supplier negotiations, PO creation, and risk assessment in a fast-paced setting. The successful candidate will have at least two years of retail buying experience, a relevant bachelor’s degree preferred, and

• Two years of retail buying experience required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, or related field preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Ability to compile information and make decisions.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.

The Buyer coordinates the procurement of products and supplies for resale. This person should have the ability to work well under pressure, independently and be a team player.

• Researches, analyzes, and forecasts current and future buying trends, markets, styles, and products, with attention to specified target market and demographics.
• Develops and maintains relationships with wholesalers and suppliers.

Technical Qualifications
