Butcher - FT (Food Services)

Our Ramsey, NJ store is actively seeking a full-time Butcher for its busy Meat Department. The ideal candidate will have excellent meat cutting skills, with in-depth experience using a bandsaw and butchering knives. A cut test will be scheduled for qualified candidates.

Responsibilities

1. Counter duties: Arrange cuts of meat attractively in the display case, weigh, label, and price a variety of cuts for customer selections efficiently.
2. Butcher duties: Receive and inspect meat deliveries, ensure quality standards, keep records, budgets, and inventory, and cut meat into smaller portions using various tools following old-school cutting techniques.
3. Assist customers with questions and orders, providing excellent service.
4. Handle industrial butchering equipment safely and in compliance with all laws and company policies.
5. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• HS Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 7+ years of experience as a butcher using a bandsaw in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work efficiently while following safety guidelines and policies.
• Proficient in English (reading, writing, understanding).
