Job summary

Upstream Brewing Company is seeking friendly, reliable bussers to create a clean, welcoming dining area and support the service team in a fast-paced environment.

You will clear and reset tables, assist servers, maintain dining spaces and restrooms, and help ensure guest satisfaction by working closely with management and staff.

Qualifications

• Physical: ability to lift up to 40 lbs and be on your feet for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Read and follow company policies and dress code.
• Set and clean tables quickly toprepare for guests.
• Assist servers by clearing dishes and resetting tables.
• Return dirty dishes to the dishwashing area for cleaning.
• Communicate seating needs with hosts and maintain dining area cleanliness.
• Keep restrooms and dining spaces clean and orderly throughout shift.
• Sanitize areas and manage trash as part of shift duties.
• Collaborate with Upstream Brewing staff to maintain morale and efficiency.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Provide a positive first impression by ensuring a clean environment for guests by performing assigned duties. Work with management and service staff to maintain service efficiency and ensuring total guest satisfaction. TO be successful in this position, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The tasks below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

TASKS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Read and interpret all company documents, hand books and policies. Adhering to all of Upstream Brewing Company’s policies, procedures and dress codes.
• Ensure clean and properly set table in the shortest amount of time possible
• Assist serving staff by removing dishes in between courses, clearing tables after the guests leave and resetting tables with proper utensils.
• Returns dirty dishes, silverware and glassware to proper dishwashing area, sorting items and placing them in the prescribed area for proper care.
• Communicates with host stand about tables that have been cleaned and reset. Communicates with hosts about seating needs.
• Maintain cleanliness of dining areas, restrooms and perimeter of the building and outside seating areas.
• Clean/sanitize, empty trash and spot sweep the restaurant throughout shift.
• Maintain a favorable working relationship with all other Upstream Brewing employees and guests to foster and promote a harmonious working climate that maximizes morale, productivity and efficiency.
• Complete all busser related tasks assigned by management. See busser cleaning projects and busser side jobs.

Requirements

• Education: some high school.
• Physical: Must be able to perform duties that include but are not limited to: reaching, bending, stooping, wiping, frequently lifting bus tubs and trays up to 40lbs, and moving fast-paced throughout the dining room for up to 8 hours. Be able to handle cleaning compounds and chemicals.

HAZARDS:

Hazards include cuts from broken glass or bus tubs, burns, slipping and tripping.
