Job summary

Vespera Resort on Pismo Beach is seeking a guest-focused team member to assist with serving food and beverages in our restaurant and outlets. The role offers compensation at $16.90 per hour plus gratuities, with a full benefits package available.

Flexible schedules include holidays, nights, and weekends based on hotel events. Strong teamwork and guest service are essential to deliver an exceptional dining experience at this premier central coast resort.

Qualifications

• Understand the mission, vision, and goals of the hotel.
• Must be able to prioritize and work efficiently with limited supervision.
• Must be detail-oriented and able to multi-task efficiently.

• Must possess excellent communication, follow-up, and organizational skills.

• Safety PPE as needed for the duty assigned and with the use of required tools and equipment.

• Follow directions thoroughly; understand a guest’s service needs; work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assists the service staff in the service of food for the guest.
• Ensure service is more efficient and timely and to guarantee the best possible dining experience for the guest.
• Completes opening, closing and side work.
• Sets up food carts and stations for service.
• Communicates with and supports all staff to better serve the guests.
• Deliver food and beverage to guests in an accurate and timely manner.
• Expo build tickets on food and kitchen line.
• Monitor each guest's dining experience.
• Pre-set tables for dining and clear tables for next course.
• Be knowledgeable of all menu items with ingredients with relation to common dietary restrictions.
• Maintain a clean dining area at all times.
• Ensure all equipment is in operation order and all supplies are up to par.
• Report equipment that needs repair or supplies that need to be ordered.
• Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned station and service areas.
• Follow 4 Keys service standards, standard operation procedures, and safety standards.
• Follow safety and security procedures.
• Work cohesively with co-workers and all departments as part of a team.
• Follow all appropriate policies and procedures while constantly striving to improve standards of operations.
• Adhere to attendance and reliability standards.
• Follow all additional duties as assigned by management.
