Job summary

Crystal Mountain is seeking a Busser to support our Food and Beverage team in Thompsonville, MI. The role starts late April or early May and involves table clearing, resetting, and assisting servers to ensure fast, courteous service to guests.

Candidates should be able to lift up to 25 pounds, stand and walk for shifts, and maintain high attendance. Evening, weekend, and holiday availability is expected at this four-season resort.

Responsibilities

• Obtain service area assignment at the beginning of each shift.
• Greet guests and assist with bread, water and table setup.

• Assist with food delivery during peak periods or large parties.
• Maintain clean and organized service stations throughout shift.
• Perform opening and closing side work as required.

Job description

As part of our Food and Beverage team, the Busser assists servers in providing fast and courteous service of food and beverage to guests by clearing and setting tables, and performing miscellaneous tasks. Position anticipated to start late April or early May.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Obtain service area assignment at the beginning of each shift.
• Promptly greet guests as they are seated and bring bread, butter and water to table.
• Remove used tableware between courses and provide tableware for next course.
• Clear tables after guests.
• Take tableware to dish room and place silverware, dishes, glassware, etc. in appropriate areas for washing.
• Promptly clean table tops, chairs and booths between seating. Check floor and clean as required. Reset and arrange tabletop.
• Respond appropriately to guest requests and communicate guest requests to server as needed.
• Communicate with server and hostess to assure efficient seating, table utilization, and customer service.
• Assist server as needed with food delivery, especially with large parties, and during peak periods.
• Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant, as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.
• Reset tables according to specifications of restaurant.
• Set up and break down dining room for each shift.
• Maintain service stations in a clean and orderly manner throughout shift.
• Perform all opening and closing side work as required.
• Perform additional responsibilities as requested by a manager.
• Follow all safety and sanitation policies.
• Other duties as assigned.

Physical & Other Requirements: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Evenings, weekends and holidays are a regular part of the schedule. Must have excellent attendance and conduct record for consideration. Non-smoking candidates preferred.
