Job summary

China Peak Mountain Resort is seeking a staff member for a non-skiing, non-snowboarding food service role. You will remove trash, clean surfaces, assist with setup and stocking, and help maintain outdoor service areas during a winter resort operation.

Requirements include being at least 14 years old, and a completion path for minors per California law. Must be able to read basic words and speak simple sentences, with physical duties including outdoor work in winter conditions.

Job description

SUMMARY:

This is a non-skiing/non-snowboarding position.Facilitates food service by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Removes trash, cleans tables and empties and cleans trash receptacles.
• Wipes down/washes table tops, benches or chairs, serving trays, accumulated cooking and serving items.
• Assists with set up, stocking and breakdown of outside service areas.
• Assists with restocking dry goods and kitchen products as directed.
• Cleans and sweeps floors and decks, including snow removal.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

Due to the many variables that affect Winter resort operations, such as weather and number of guests, occasionally employees may be asked to perform other duties or assist in efforts outside their primary area of responsibility as needed, including performing in any food and beverage position qualified to perform.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENT:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Less than high school education. In accordance with California State Law, minor employees (less than the age of 18) that have not completed High School or the equivalent must present a valid Work Permit issued by the school district of their residence, valid through the end of the Winter Season.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read a limited number of two and three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

WINTER RESORT AREA DESCRIPTION:

This is a Winter Resort Area.It requires that work venues are varied and in many cases include steep stairways, multi-level buildings and outdoor work areas, subject to very cold, sometimes wet or very sunny work sites.Walking surfaces are frequently frozen, sloped and slippery.Proper footwear is a must, indoors and out.Work days and hours, as well as the number of hours required will vary, with an emphasis on weekends and holidays.
