Job summary

Acme Hospitality is seeking a Busser to maintain the dining area’s cleanliness and support the waitstaff and kitchen in delivering a seamless guest experience.

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced setting, strong teamwork, and adherence to health and safety standards. A prior fine dining background and a current Food Handler Certification are preferred to ensure high service quality.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Busser or Server Assistant in fine dining preferred.
• Knowledge of fine dining etiquette and service standards.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and guest service skills.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Willingness to learn and follow supervisor directions.
• Current Food Handler Certification.

Responsibilities

• Clear tables promptly after guests finish, removing used dishes, glassware, and utensils.
• Reset tables with clean settings, including linens, cutlery, glassware, and condiments.
• Assist in delivering food and beverages to guests' tables with the waitstaff.
• Pre-bus tables by removing empty plates, glasses, and clutter.
• Provide exceptional guest service by addressing guest requests or concerns about cleanliness.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the dining area (sweeping, mopping, wiping).
• Restock napkins, straws, and condiments at each table.
• Collaborate with waitstaff and kitchen for smooth service coordination.
• Assist in setup and breakdown for events or private dining reservations.
• Maintain stocked bussing stations and waste disposal as needed.
• Follow health and safety regulations including food handling practices.
• Support other team members during busy periods or special events.
• Attend staff meetings and training sessions.
• Polish glassware, plate ware and silverware as needed.

Position Summary

The Busser plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the dining area and contributes to the guest experience. Bussers work closely with the waitstaff and kitchen staff to ensure a smooth and enjoyable dining experience for guests.

Responsibilites

• Clear tables promptly and efficiently after guests have finished their meals, ensuring that used dishes, glassware, and utensils are removed.
• Reset tables with clean and properly arranged table settings, including linens, cutlery, glassware, and condiments.
• Assist in delivering food and beverages to guests' tables, working closely with the waitstaff to ensure accurate and timely service.
• Pre-bus tables by removing empty plates, glasses, and clutter throughout the meal, keeping the dining area clean and organized.
• Provide exceptional customer service by promptly addressing any guest requests or concerns related to table cleanliness or organization.
• Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the dining area, including sweeping, mopping, and wiping surfaces as needed.
• Restock and replenish necessary items, such as napkins, straws, and condiments, at each table.
• Collaborate with the waitstaff and kitchen staff to ensure smooth coordination of service, including communicating special requests or modifications to orders.
• Assist in the setup and breakdown of tables, chairs, and any additional equipment required for special events or private dining reservations.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including ensuring that bussing stations are properly stocked with necessary supplies.
• Assist in the disposal of trash and recycling in accordance with waste management guidelines.
• Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.
• Support other team members as needed, including helping with special events or providing assistance in other areas of the restaurant.
• Maintain a positive and professional attitude, contributing to a harmonious and efficient work environment.
• Polish glassware, plate ware and silverware as needed.
• Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Busser or Server Assistant in a fine dining or upscale restaurant is preferred.
• Knowledge of fine dining etiquette and service standards.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate with the waitstaff, kitchen staff, and guests.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
• Physical stamina and ability to lift and carry heavy trays or bus tubs.
• Attention to detail to ensure accurate and consistent table setups.
• Customer service-oriented mindset with a focus on providing exceptional dining experiences.
• Flexibility to work in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Professional and polished appearance, adhering to dress code and grooming standards.
• Ability to work well in a team and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
• Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.

Salary Description

$16.90/hour plus tips
