Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field is required.
  • MBA preferred; professional credentials like CPA/CFA/ASA encouraged.
  • 5–7 years of business valuation experience in Big 4 or national firm.
  • Strong analytical, research and communication skills; ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient with Excel; experience with Capital IQ and Bloomberg is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Research company, industry and economic factors and analyze financial statements.
  • Construct financial models and develop cash flow forecasts.
  • Prepare exhibits and memos; ensure quality controls on work products.

Job Summary

The Valuation & Capital Markets Analytics Manager is responsible for leading, executing and delivery of challenging valuation engagements by participating in all aspects of projects, from the initial proposal preparation, through project completion. In this role, the Valuation & Capital Markets Analytics Manager is actively engaged in the management of business valuation assignments and managing staff in the development of such assignments. In addition, the Valuation & Capital Markets Analytics Manager will be charged with assisting with business development activities and appraisal reviews.

Job Duties
  • Performs related company, industry and economic research
  • Analyses client financial statements
  • Constructs financial models
  • Assesses operational profitability and financial conditions
  • Develops and reviews cash flow forecasts
  • Performs benchmark analysis
  • Documents and maintains all appropriate aspects of work product
  • Composes narrative reports in support of valuation analyses
  • Prepares necessary exhibits and memos in illustration of complex issues
  • Ensures quality controls are adhered in association with all work products
  • Participates in internal and external client meetings
  • Assists and provides guidance to peers and staff members in the development of project plans and timelines for deliverables
  • Other duties as required
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Supervises the day-to-day workload of VCMA Senior Associates and Associates on assigned engagements and reviews work product
  • Ensures VCMA Senior Associates and Associates are trained on all relevant valuation databases and models.
  • Evaluates the performance of VCMA Senior Associates and Associates and assists in the development of goals and objectives to enhance professional development
  • Delivers periodic performance feedback and completes performance evaluations for VCMA Senior Associates and Associates
  • Acts as Career Advisor to VCMA Senior Associates and Associates, as appropriate
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other relevant field required
  • Masters in Business Administration preferred
  • Experience: Five (5) to seven (7) years of business valuation experience in a Big 4 or national basis required
  • Significant experience in business valuation and intangible assets required
  • Prior experience in financial reporting valuation and appraisal review
  • License/Certifications: CPA, CFA, AM, ASA or other valuation industry credentials preferred
  • Software: Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Prior experience with Capital IQ and Bloomberg preferred
  • Language: N/A
  • Superior oral and written communication skills
  • Superior analytical and research skills
  • Solid organizational skills especially ability to meet project deadlines with a focus on details
  • Ability to successfully multi-task while working independently or within a group environment
  • Proven ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Capable of effective managing a team of valuation professionals and delegating work assignments as needed
  • Capacity to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and client personnel
  • Ability to encourage team environment on engagements and contribute to the professional development of assigned personnel
  • Executive presence and ability to act as primary contact on assigned engagements
  • Ability to successfully interact with professionals at all levels
  • Ability for intermittent travel within the US and internationally required

Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.

Salary Range

National Range: $95,000 - $150,000

Maryland Range: $95,000 - $150,000

NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $95,000 - $150,000
