Job Summary
The Valuation & Capital Markets Analytics Managing Director is responsible for leading, executing and delivering challenging valuation engagements, participating in all aspects of projects from proposal to completion. In this role, they manage business valuation assignments, staff, and assist with business development activities and appraisal reviews.
Job Duties
- Executes office business development plan in conjunction with the Valuation leader
- Builds relationships with key executives and stakeholders to grow office business lines and industries
- Coordinates with Alliance Firms and International firms as appropriate
- Contributes business development thought leadership, tools and resources to the national platform
- Ensures client project delivery, including performing company, industry, economic research; analyzing client financial statements; constructing financial models; assessing operational profitability and financial conditions; developing and reviewing cash flow forecasts; performing benchmark analysis; documenting and maintaining work product; composing narrative reports; preparing exhibits and memos; ensuring quality controls; participating in client meetings
- Other duties as required
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Supervises day‑to‑day workload of Valuation and Business Analytics staff on engagements and reviews work product
- Ensures staff trained on valuation databases and models
- Evaluates performance and assists in goal setting and professional development
- Delivers periodic performance feedback and completes evaluations
- Acts as career advisor to staff as appropriate
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field required.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree (see Education)
- Master’s in Business Administration preferred
Experience
- 10+ years of business valuation experience at a Big 4 or national role at a mid-size firm required
- Significant experience in business valuation and intangible assets required
- Prior experience in financial reporting valuation and appraisal review required
License/Certifications
- CPA, CFA, AM, ASA or other valuation credentials preferred
Software
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Prior experience with Capital IQ and Bloomberg preferred

Compensation
Individual salaries determined by experience, skills, geography. National, Maryland, NYC/Long Island/Westchester ranges: $250,000 – $350,000.
