Job Description

The Business Unit Compliance Analyst is a first line of defense in risk management, ensuring activities comply with applicable laws and regulations. The role involves ownership of processes, reports, and procedures within a specific business line, serving as an expert in compliance matters.

Primary Responsibilities
  1. Maintain knowledge of relevant rules and regulations impacting products, services, and operations.
  2. Partner with business leadership as a subject matter expert on compliance issues.
  3. Research laws and regulations, monitor for updates, and assess their impact.
  4. Collaborate with the second line of defense to evaluate legal impacts on the business.
  5. Resolve complex compliance issues requiring interpretation of policies and guidelines.
  6. Administer monitoring and testing programs for compliance effectiveness.
  7. Develop and recommend policies and procedures to management.
  8. Lead compliance training initiatives for the business group.
  9. Gather information for regulatory inquiries.
  10. Potentially supervise other compliance associates.
This position is exempt from overtime under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is primarily remote, with possible on-site meetings.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED with 9+ years of compliance-related experience, or
  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience.
Preferences
  • Master’s degree.
  • Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM).

This role is based in Birmingham, Atlanta, Charlotte, Nashville, Orlando, or Tampa, with remote work primarily expected.
