If you are a highly motivated individual with business tax preparation experience and excellent communication skills, we need you to help our customers complete their taxes using Intuit TurboTax Business products.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing complex business tax returns for Partnerships and S Corporations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations for business and personal tax returns, as well as significant experience in preparing and filing business and personal tax returns.
Responsibilities
- This is a virtual, customer-facing role; you will be using our state-of-the-art video communications software (Smartlook) to interact with customers.
- Help TurboTax Business customers who are working on their tax returns or have delegated their tax returns with:
- Tax advice
- Full Service Business return preparation and signature
- Product/software inquiries
- Tax calculations
- Filing tax extensions
- Create high-quality customer interactions and experiences that instill confidence using deep customer empathy, extensive knowledge, and expertise in business tax preparation and books-to-tax accounting entries.
- Utilize government websites, professional resources, and team expertise to find and deliver the right answer to the customer in everyday language.
- Apply defined practices, procedures, and company policies to troubleshoot and resolve customer tax advice and tax return preparation issues.
- Document customer interactions thoroughly.
- Work towards meeting company key performance metrics and Big Bet Goals.
- Participate in pilot testing, projects, and experience validations as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Strong business tax preparation experience and extensive knowledge of tax laws, evidenced by 3+ years of recent experience preparing federal and state business tax returns (1065 and/or 1120-S) for at least 20 clients per season, using commercial tax software.
- Minimum of 2 seasons of personal tax preparation experience, with at least 30 returns per year, preferred.
- Availability to work at least 20 hours per week, spread over three or more days.
- Bookkeeping experience with books-to-tax preparation is strongly preferred.
- Experience preparing business tax returns for service industry clients is preferred.
- Ability to obtain or hold relevant state licenses, certificates, permits, or bonds.
- Active Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN).
- Knowledge of Circular 230.
- Proficiency with technology, including computer operations and software.
- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally via video and audio tools.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Critical thinking, problem solving, research skills, and determination.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Reliable internet connection meeting security criteria.
- Residency in the United States.
