The Business Systems Analyst Support position plays a key role in assisting the Tax Operations Division with the analysis, testing, and improvement of complex business systems that impact the division, department, and statewide tax processes. Working closely with Management Analysts, GenTax/Paper/Efile Coordinators, MNIT staff, FAST developers, and this role help ensure system functionality, data accuracy, and smooth implementation of changes.
Working with Coordinators this position is responsible for updating business requirements, supporting solution design, and performing extensive testing of system fixes, upgrades, annual tax return changes, and new functionality for paper and electronic returns and registration. The analyst will monitor and diagnose system issues, recommend solutions, and complete priorities aligned with division and departmental goals. The role also develops testing scenarios, creates and updates procedures, and provides technical assistance and troubleshooting guidance to division staff.
The Business Systems Analyst Support participates in department projects, provides regular progress updates, and collaborates with other testers and coordinators to ensure consistent and accurate outcomes. This position does not supervise staff and reports to the Supervisor of Business Systems Unit 1.
This position is eligible for hybrid telework. Employees living within 50 miles of the office will be required to work in the office at least 50% of the time each month. Employees may reside outside the state of Minnesota if they live in a state bordering Minnesota and are within 50 miles of the primary work location.
Existing employees who were approved to telework from a bordering state and more than 50 miles from their work location before June 1, 2025, may retain this arrangement unless they move farther away.

As part of an offer of employment, a fingerprint-based background check will be conducted in accordance with IRS Publication 1075.
