This role serves as the critical bridge between Operations and IT, partnering directly with plant leadership and business stakeholders to identify opportunities, design solutions, and drive adoption across the organization. The ideal candidate combines strong business acumen, project leadership, and technical capabilities. They are comfortable working with plant personnel, maintenance teams, operations leaders, and IT resources to understand business challenges and implement practical solutions. This individual will lead automation projects, manage third-party development partners, develop analytical solutions (primarily Power BI), and drive continuous improvement through the effective use of technology and data. This is a highly visible role requiring initiative, ownership, strong communication skills, and the ability to independently lead projects from concept through deployment.

Key Responsibilities

Business Partnership & Process Improvement

• Partner with operations teams to identify opportunities for automation, process improvement, and enhanced visibility into business performance.
• Spend time understanding operational workflows and business challenges before recommending solutions.
• Translate operational requirements into functional technical specifications.
• Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and IT resources.
• Build strong relationships with plant personnel, supervisors, managers, and functional leaders.
• Drive adoption of new processes, tools, and reporting solutions.
• Challenge stakeholders appropriately by helping define the underlying business problem rather than simply fulfilling requests.

Analytics & Automation

• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions.
• Create intuitive and visually compelling dashboards that drive action.
• Standardize KPIs and reporting across business units and facilities.
• Analyze operational data to identify trends, performance gaps, and improvement opportunities.
• Ensure data integrity and reporting accuracy across multiple systems.
• Develop Power BI, SQL, Power Apps, and Power Automate solutions when business needs or project timelines require direct involvement.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, including AI-enabled tools and automation technologies, to improve efficiency and decision-making.
• Support and troubleshoot existing applications, automations, and reporting solutions.
• Perform root cause analysis and drive resolution of system and process issues.
• Identify opportunities to eliminate manual work through technology and process improvements.

Project Leadership

• Lead multiple technology and process improvement projects simultaneously.
• Develop project plans, timelines, and stakeholder communication strategies.
• Manage third-party contractors and development partners responsible for application development and process automation.
• Coordinate efforts between operations teams, IT resources, and external vendors.
• Ensure solutions are delivered on time, meet business requirements, and achieve expected outcomes.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Analytics, Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in analytics, business systems, process improvement, automation, project management, or related disciplines.
• Advanced Power BI development experience.
• Strong SQL and data analysis skills.
• Experience leading cross-functional projects.
• Demonstrated ability to gather requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for improvement.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Power Apps and Power Automate.
• Experience working in manufacturing, industrial, logistics, supply chain, maintenance, or operations environments.

• Experience with database management and data architecture concepts.
• Exposure to AI tools, analytics platforms, and automation technologies.
