Purpose of Position

The Business Analyst II for the Office of Information Technology (OIT) provides procedural guidance, process improvement recommendations, business requirements planning, system configuration, implementation, service management, application testing, quality control, project management, and advanced reporting for departmental applications. The role also performs advanced analysis of exception conditions, error processing, and workflow efficiencies across multiple supported applications.

Essential Functions
  • Work with associated business areas to resolve exceptions preventing normal business operations as they relate to software applications and business procedures.
  • Perform advanced problem/root cause analysis of business processes, work- flow processes, and advanced troubleshooting for user departments.
  • Develop business process documentation and configuration guides.
  • Work with specialized software specific to OIT area of responsibility to provide data input for analysis and reporting.
  • Train/Mentor less experienced business analysts with business process designs, testing, quality control and reporting requests from users.
  • Act as a liaison on behalf of Office of Information (OIT) and departments for technology related communications and meetings with technical staff/vendors as needed.
  • Identify and develop practices and business processes as requested by business areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, Math, Economics, or related degree and three (3) years of experience working with business users, and technical staff to complete projects, change requests, identifying and analyzing business process models for departments, documenting current/to-be business processes or seven (7) years of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, Math, Economics, or related degree.
  • Five (5) years of experience working with a combination of PeopleSoft applications, including Admissions, Student Records, Financial Aid, Student Financials, Advising, Enrollment, HR, Finance, Grants, G/L, Commitment Control, Purchasing, CRM, and Data Warehousing or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.).
  • Proficient in working with multiple enterprise software applications.
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and documentation skills.
  • Knowledge of Agile Scrum and document imaging tools like Hyland Perceptive Content (ImageNow) or OnBase.
Work Schedule
  • Monday through Friday; 8:00am through 5:00pm.
Working Conditions
  • Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation.
  • Uses standard office equipment.
  • Position may be designated security-sensitive based on job duties or location.
