Job summary

University of Washington’s Office of Research is seeking a Business System Analyst for a 1-year term to support ORIS projects from requirements through design and implementation. You will collaborate with stakeholders to design and develop applications that streamline grant procurement and management for researchers and administrators.

Responsibilities include eliciting end-user needs, creating artifacts, and guiding workshops.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, business administration, information science or other technical area.
• Minimum 4 years of experience performing progressively more complex and responsible tasks.
• Knowledge and experience with UCD practices to translate business needs into documentation.
• Demonstrated diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication and collaboration abilities.
• Experience with BA planning, requirements management, and modeling tools.

Responsibilities

• Research and analyze end-user needs using UCD practices and elicitation techniques.
• Use agile methodologies to break complex feature requirements into manageable chunks.
• Create artefacts to support understanding of business needs (diagrams, use cases, workflows).
• Document functional, interaction, and non-functional requirements; define acceptance criteria.
• Participate in testing and validation to ensure a quality product is delivered.
• Design and facilitate requirements workshops and user research sessions.
