Health Information Technology & Services (HITS) supports the mission and success of Michigan Medicine by delivering technology solutions, information resources, and end-user support to clinicians, educators, researchers, students, and staff. The department provides leadership and expertise in information technology strategy, cybersecurity, infrastructure management, and resource planning to ensure reliable, secure, and innovative technology services across the organization.
The HITS MiChart Orders, Provider Documentation, Bugsy, and Beans Dialysis Team supports Michigan Medicine's clinical and operational objectives through the maintenance, optimization, and enhancement of key Epic applications that facilitate patient care, provider workflows, clinical documentation, and Infection Prevention & Epidemiology (IPE) activities. The team collaborates closely with clinical, operational, and technical stakeholders to deliver innovative technology solutions, implement system improvements, and provide ongoing application support. This division is responsible for the configuration, administration, and continuous improvement of EpicCare Orders, Provider Documentation, Bugsy, and Beans Dialysis, ensuring reliable, efficient, and compliant healthcare technology services across the organization. Team members leverage healthcare and information technology expertise to support application design, workflow analysis, system optimization, order entry processes, order maintenance, and IPE-related initiatives that enhance patient safety, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
The Business Analyst Intermediate is expected to demonstrate proficiency in Epic system configuration and support activities. Individuals certified in Epic applications other than EpicCare Orders and Bugsy will be expected to attain proficiency in EpicCare Orders and Bugsy to effectively support organizational needs.
