Job summary

Bankers Surety in St. Petersburg, FL seeks an entry-level Business Systems Analyst I to join our Application Development team. You will learn the business, shadow experts, and translate conversations into clear requirements and user stories for developers.

You will work closely with stakeholders, write acceptance criteria, manage bug reports, and help coordinate testing and release notes. A path to owning a portfolio awaits as you map processes end to end.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, information systems, finance, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to clarify complex ideas.
• Strong attention to detail and reasoning to map processes and requirements.
• Experience turning stakeholder conversations into clear, actionable documentation.

Responsibilities

• Meet with business stakeholders to understand how a process works today, where it hurts, and what they are trying to accomplish.
• Write up what needs to be built as user stories with clear, testable acceptance criteria in Azure DevOps.
• Take in bug reports, reproduce the problem, and document steps, expected behavior, and severity.
• Coordinate user acceptance testing through to sign-off and write release notes/end-user guides.
• Pull and review data to support requirement decisions using reporting tools and SQL as you learn it.
• Track open questions and follow-ups so nothing gets dropped; run stakeholder sessions and map end-to-end processes.

Working out what is actually true, and turning it into something a developer can build, is this job.Bankers Surety underwrites bail bonds through a network of independent agencies across the country, and we are part of Bankers Financial Corporation. You would join a small team, working directly with the manager who hires you and with the developers who build it. We build the internal applications our operations and accounting teams run on, the external web applications those agencies use, a mobile app, and an API that other companies integrate with.This is a good place to start in this kind of work, whether it is your first job or a change of direction. You would see the whole lifecycle instead of one slice, and learn a specialized corner of the insurance industry that not many people understand. We do not expect you to arrive knowing it, and we will teach you the business and the tools.What You Would DoThe early weeks are for shadowing our subject matter experts and developers, sitting in on stakeholder meetings, and learning the business before you own requirements of your own.
