Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to support enterprise data initiatives, including source data analysis, data mapping, data warehouse modernization, and cloud migration projects. The ideal candidate will bridge business and technical teams, gathering requirements, analyzing complex data ecosystems, and ensuring successful delivery of data-driven solutions.
Candidates with 10+ years of experience are preferred; however, we will consider professionals with fewer years of experience who bring strong domain expertise in Actuarial, Risk Management, or Underwriting environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with business stakeholders, data teams, and technology teams to gather and document business and system requirements.
- Perform detailed source data analysis, data profiling, and data lineage assessments.
- Lead data mapping activities between source systems, data warehouses, and cloud platforms.
- Analyze and document functional and technical requirements for data integration and migration initiatives.
- Support cloud migration projects, ensuring data quality, completeness, and business rule validation.
- Collaborate with Data Engineers, Architects, and Developers to design scalable data solutions.
- Create business process flows, data dictionaries, mapping documents, and requirement specifications.
- Validate data transformations and support testing activities, including UAT.
- Identify risks, dependencies, and data quality issues and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Act as a liaison between business users and technical teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Business Analyst, or related role.
- Strong expertise in:
- SQL
- Data Warehousing
- Source Data Analysis
- Data Mapping
- Requirements Gathering and Documentation
- Experience supporting large-scale cloud migration initiatives.
- Strong understanding of data models, ETL/ELT processes, and data integration concepts.
- Ability to work effectively with both business stakeholders and technical teams.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Actuarial, Risk, or Underwriting domains within the Insurance industry.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Familiarity with data governance, data quality, and master data management practices.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
