Job summary

Everest Consultants in Vancouver, WA is seeking a Business Systems Analyst 3 for a 12-month contract to drive requirements, solution design, testing, and continuous improvement of complex IT systems.

You will conduct interviews and workshops with stakeholders, document current and future state processes, and support implementation with lifecycle artifacts, risk tracking, and change management, while collaborating with IT teams in a hybrid environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in IT, Technical Management, Information Management, Engineering, Business Systems, Computer Science or related field preferred.
• 10 years of experience with an Associate's degree.
• 8 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree.
• 12 years of experience without a degree.
• Experience in business systems analysis and progressively more technical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Conduct interviews, workshops, and validation sessions to elicit and document requirements.
• Research current and future state processes and designs.
• Support analysis and development of recommendations for improvements.
• Facilitate design sessions and stakeholder meetings.
• Develop and maintain solution documentation (requirements, use cases, test plans).
• Create reports and queries to analyze business data.
• Prepare functional and technical documentation for IT development teams.

Job description

Title: Business Systems Analyst 3

Location: Vancouver, WA (Hybrid)

Duration: 12-month Contract (with possible extensions up to 5 years)

Pay Range: $69.03 - $72.26 per hour

Supports requirements development, solution design, implementation, testing, and continuous improvement for complex technical systems and business processes. Works with stakeholders, subject matter experts, project sponsors, and IT teams to define requirements, develop solutions, support implementation, and ensure required lifecycle documentation and approvals are completed.

Position Responsibilities

• Conduct interviews, workshops, and validation sessions to elicit, analyze, document, and validate application requirements; identify gaps and resolve stakeholder conflicts.
• Research and document current and future state processes, functional and technical designs, and complex technical systems.
• Support business analysis activities, solution alternatives analysis, decision frameworks, and development of recommendations for improvement opportunities.
• Facilitate design sessions, stakeholder meetings, sponsor meetings, and technical process improvement activities.
• Develop and maintain solution documentation, including requirements, use cases, test plans, process maps, desk procedures, business cases, and business justifications.
• Research opportunities to automate repetitive data manipulation and create queries and reports to extract, analyze, and report business architecture information.
• Prepare functional and technical documentation for IT development teams and collaborate with developers throughout solution build activities.
• Support project management activities, including maintaining scope, status, schedule, budget, forecast, risks, issues, and resource information, and coordinating project team contributors.
• Support change management, system and user testing, and integration activities to facilitate implementation and adoption of developed solutions.
• Provide first line technical support to business users, maintain user and training documentation, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Verify assigned projects follow established operational technology system lifecycle processes, including completing required steps and artifacts and incorporating stakeholder feedback.
• Interview subject matter experts, prepare and facilitate reviews of lifecycle artifacts, incorporate feedback, and obtain project sponsor approval of final artifacts.

Position Requirements

Education & Corresponding Experience

• A degree in Information Technology, Technical Management, Information Management, Engineering, Business Systems, Computer Science or a directly related technical discipline is preferred.
  • 10 years of experience is required with an applicable Associate's degree.
  • 8 years of experience is required with an applicable Bachelor's degree.
  • 12 years of experience is required without a degree.
• Experience should be consistent with the specific requirements of business systems analysis and progressively more technical in nature.

Required Technical Skills & Experience

• Advanced knowledge of Visio and/or other flowchart tools.
• Expert proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
• Utilizing requirements management tool.
• Expert knowledge in supporting full lifecycle of projects through the IT Systems Development Lifecycle
• Expert knowledge in IT planning, functional and technical specifications, and system life-cycle (SLC) management.
• Experience Supporting Requirements Development, to include:
  • Conduct interviews and facilitate workshops to elicit business requirements
  • Research, analyze, model and organize information for developing requirements
  • Decompose high-level information and abstract up from low-level information to distinguish solution ideas from business needs
  • Facilitate requirements validation sessions and present findings to stakeholders
  • Collaborate to resolve requirements conflicts between stakeholders
  • Research, document, and validate current and future state processes and designs (functional and technical)
• Help define best approaches, alternatives, and decision frameworks for alternative business solutions analyses.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Experience in organizational change management methods and tools.
• Experience with Agile and Waterfall methodologies
