Base pay range

$40.00/hr - $50.00/hr

Job Title: Business Systems Analyst

Location: Fully Remote (Eastern Time Zone hours)

Pay Rate: $40–$50/hour (based on experience)

Duration: 9 months

We are currently supporting a key client in identifying an experienced Business Systems Analyst to join a high-impact finance transformation initiative in the financial services / insurance sector. The role is focused on process improvement, system implementation, and supporting finance transformation efforts across multiple business units.

The Business Systems Analyst will play a critical role in identifying, documenting, and delivering process improvements and systems enhancements within finance and accounting functions. This is a hands-on role that involves direct collaboration with internal stakeholders, facilitation of business requirements, and support of system transformation projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct requirements gathering sessions with stakeholders across accounting and finance teams
• Document current-state and future-state processes using tools such as process flow diagrams
• Propose and validate system and workflow improvements that enhance efficiency and reduce costs
• Collaborate with project managers and business leaders to ensure smooth delivery of system changes
• Assist in system testing, issue tracking, and end-user training related to finance system enhancements
• Support ongoing releases and version updates across finance platforms
• Maintain detailed documentation and status tracking throughout the project lifecycle
• Build strong relationships with internal teams and external vendors to support successful transformation

Key Qualifications:

• Direct experience working in a Finance and/or Accounting function to garner hands-on knowledge of these processes. This is a must have.
• Crossover experience as a Business Analyst, ideally supporting finance and accounting teams
• Solid understanding of core accounting principles and finance operations
• Familiarity with finance transformation projects, shared service environments, and systems integrations
• Strong process documentation and workflow design experience (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma)
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills

Preferred Experience:

• Experience with tools like Workday Financials, BlackLine and Prism
• Background in financial services or insurance is a plus
• Change management exposure and the ability to support user adoption efforts
• Fully remote role; candidates must be able to work Eastern Time Zone hours
• Strong potential for impactful contribution to a strategic finance transformation initiative
• Ideal for lower- to mid-level BAs looking to deepen experience in finance transformation
