Business Systems Analyst – West Deptford, NJ
As a Business Systems Analyst, you will support the implementation, management, maintenance, enhancement, support, and decommission of critical software systems, coordinating with stakeholders to gather requirements, design solutions, and ensure system reliability for JohnsonMatthey’s sustainable technology operations.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for business applications and liaison between technical staff and user groups.
- Engage with internal teams to translate business requests into analytical project approaches, supporting or leading projects to completion.
- Determine operational objectives by studying business functions, gathering information, and evaluating output requirements.
- Examine current business procedures, recommend improvements and controls, identify problems or vulnerabilities, and propose solutions.
- Diagnose, review, and resolve incidents; maintain records of system incidents.
- Prepare technical reports, develop and maintain documentation and standards (including SOPs, training guides, workflow diagrams, and lessons).
- Update and maintain user accounts and manage permissions based on approved requests.
- Validate data using system‑generated reports, create and execute test plans, support user acceptance testing.
- Provide system demonstrations, end‑user training, and ongoing guidance.
- Ensure information confidentiality and participate in activities that maintain knowledge of industry developments.
- Collaborate with JM IT to deliver secure, robust, and supportable digital activities within JM IT guidelines.
- Support PGMS data strategy and data governance efforts, identify opportunities for streamlining systems and processes.
- Encourage safety and housekeeping practices and lead by example.
- Support onsite activities and research, with potential domestic/international travel.
Qualifications
- BS degree in Management Information Systems, Software/Systems/Computer Engineering, or a STEM field.
- Minimum 2+ years’ experience in information systems within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with KBM/AS400, JDE, TrakSYS and/or other ERP systems.
- Experience with data visualization tools (PowerBI, Tableau, Alteryx) and SQL is desirable.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PowerPlatform/PowerApps, Dynamics).
- Knowledge of computer network security protocols is desirable.
- Project Management experience is desirable.
- Strong leadership, organizational, interpersonal, and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- High level of drive and enthusiasm, adaptable and flexible with a positive, “can do” attitude.
- Willingness and ability to support, develop, and train others.
- Creative thinking with attention to detail.
- Strong Health and Safety awareness.
