Job summary

Johnson Matthey Inc. in West Deptford, NJ seeks a Project Engineer II to support capital projects from design through construction, commissioning and handover, driving change control and delivering safe, compliant outcomes.

You will monitor scope, budget and schedule, report to stakeholders, coordinate with suppliers and contractors, and contribute to continuous improvement while applying engineering discipline and strong communication to overcome ambiguity.

  • Degree in an engineering discipline with experience supporting engineering or capital projects.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting capital projects from design through construction, commissioning and handover while maintaining robust change control.
  • Monitoring project scope, budget, schedule and engineering progress, providing clear reporting to stakeholders.
  • Identifying and managing project risks, issues and contractor interfaces to ensure safe delivery.
  • Preparing capital expenditure requests and evaluating alternative technologies and vendors.
  • Contributing to construction readiness, commissioning plans and stage-gate reviews across the project lifecycle.
  • Driving continuous improvement through analysis, root cause investigations and project performance metrics.

About the Position

Pay Range: $ - $ Project Engineer II Location: West Deptford, USA At Johnson Matthey, your work will matter. Responsibilities
  • Supporting capital projects from design through construction, commissioning and handover while maintaining robust change control.
  • Monitoring project scope, budget, schedule and engineering progress, providing clear reporting to stakeholders.

Key Skills

  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders, suppliers and contractors in industrial environments.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Self-motivated, analytical and comfortable working through ambiguity to deliver results.
