The Business Systems Analyst functions as the bridge betweenbusiness technology, operational efficiency, and financial systemstechnology within the Finance Systems & Development Operationsunit. Serving as the frontline technical liaison for the division,the role oversees enterprise digital platforms via Cascade CMS toensure they remain engaging, accessible, and ADA -compliant, whilesimultaneously managing the central knowledge base and aligningdigital communications with institutional goals.
In tandem with these administrative duties, the position drivesrobust financial operations by bridging business units and IT,maintaining day-to-day oversight of core financial platforms likeEllucian Banner, WebFOCUS, and other applications as well astroubleshooting technical issues. Responsibilities furtherencompass assisting with systems documentation, continuouslyautomating manual workflows to enhance institutional data accuracyand efficiency, and fulfilling internal and external financialsystems request.
The Division of Business and Finance, led by the Vice Chancellorfor Business and Finance / Chief Financial Officer, stewards theuniversity’s financial resources and provides the budget,accounting, treasury, procurement, facilities, human resources,public safety, and related services that sustain institutionaloperations. Within Business and Finance, this shared model providescentralized budget and financial management to the university’sschools and divisions through finance professionals who areembedded in the units they serve and accountable to the ViceChancellor. This model delivers consistent financial practices,stronger internal controls, reliable continuity of service, anddecision-useful analysis to Unit and Division leadership.
Operating under the auspices of the Division of Business andFinance, the Finance Systems and Development Operations unit servesas the financial systems backbone, architectural, and autonomoussystems administrator for the division’s financial ecosystem.Structured across four strategic operational pillars—Core SystemsAdministration, Business Intelligence/Data Architecture, ProcessAutomation/Digital Governance, and Security Compliance/Training—theunit provides dedicated support for platforms such as EllucianBanner Finance, WebFOCUS, Power BI, and related enterprisefinancial systems. The unit drives institutional efficiency byengineering automated workflows, deploying KPI dashboards andbusiness intelligence reporting, overseeing UNC System DataMart,administering role-based security access, maintaining thedivision’s web presence, andenhancing standard operatingprocedures.
Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the area ofassignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience.All degrees must be received from appropriately accreditedinstitutions.
Hybrid (Employees are working part-time in the office to performjob tasks that require on-campus engagement, and the remaining timeat home)
This position may be eligible for a remote or hybrid workarrangement, consistent with university and state policies. N.C.A&T employees are generally required to reside in North Carolina, within a 2-hour commuting distance of their assigned duty station.
