Job summary

Ohio Logistics is seeking a Business Systems Analyst to bridge business needs with packaged software, focusing on configuring commercial solutions to improve operational efficiency.

You will work with Operations and IT, translate requirements into system specs, and support rollout, testing, and training across several sites.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Develop in-depth knowledge of commercial software applications used across the organization and their configuration, reporting capabilities, data, and structures.
• Serve as liaison between internal teams and third‑party software providers, coordinating escalated issues.
• Partner with Operations and other departments to understand workflows, objectives, challenges, and technology needs.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational processes through configuration and optimization.
• Monitor software releases and plan testing, rollout, and timing of updates.

Job description

The Business Systems Analyst partners closely with business leaders and stakeholders to ensure technology solutions effectively support operational and strategic objectives. This role is focused on enabling the transition from custom-developed systems to commercially available software by building a strong understanding of business operations and how packaged systems can be configured to support process improvement. The analyst works to understand the business rationale behind change requests, evaluates current and future state processes, and ensures technology investments deliver measurable value. By translating business needs into clear, actionable requirements, this role helps streamline operations, reduce redundancy, and maximize the adoption of standardized systems across the organization.

Primary Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Develop in-depth knowledge of the commercial software applications used throughout the organization, including their configuration, reporting capabilities, data, and system structures.
• Serve as a liaison between internal teams and third-party software providers, including coordinating escalated system issues.
• Partner directly with Operations and other departments to understand workflows, business objectives, challenges, and technology needs.
• Continually identify opportunities to improve operational processes through application configuration and system optimization.
• Monitor upcoming software releases and help determine appropriate timing, testing requirements, and rollout plans for system updates.
• Develop knowledge of Power BI and Snowflake to support reporting, analytics, dashboarding, and business decision-making.
• Translate operational needs into clear business and system requirements.
• Coordinate with Operations and IT on system implementations and enhancements, including testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), troubleshooting, and rollout support.
• Assist in developing process documentation, workflows, and training materials.
• Help ensure systems and processes align with organizational standards and applicable requirements.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of professional experience in business analysis, systems analysis, or closely related role.
• Strong understanding of business operations in a logistics and warehousing environment.
• Previous 3PL, Warehousing, Logistics, or Supply Chain experience is a plus.
• Experience working with commercial software applications from established enterprise software providers.
• Experience with Power BI or comparable data visualization and reporting tools.
• Familiarity with project management processes and system implementations.

• Ability to understand business processes and translate operational needs into technical or system requirements.
• Experience with requirements documentation, data analysis, system testing, and UAT.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Must possess a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation.
• Ability to travel between company locations approximately 50% of the time.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

This is not a remote position. Regular on-site work and travel between company locations are required. This position operates primarily in an office and business operations environment. The employee may be required to:

• Sit for extended periods.
• Stand and walk for extended periods while visiting operational facilities.
• Work indoors in low-to-moderate noise environments.
• Work in close proximity to other employees.
• Lift and handle computer or network equipment as required.
• Travel regularly between company locations.
