Job summary

The Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond is seeking a part-time intern to support its economic (business) survey team in Richmond. The role offers hands-on experience with regional business surveys and exposure to data collection, outreach, and analysis.

You will gain training in survey methodology, participate in leadership development, and contribute to projects that inform the economic outlook of the communities we serve. This internship runs January–May 2027.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to work well in a team setting but also independently.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work onsite at the Richmond Fed office.

Responsibilities

• Conduct outreach to businesses to recruit them into the Richmond Fed Business Survey panel, including but not limited to telephone and email.
• Conduct outreach to existing survey panel members to encourage their continued participation in the Richmond Fed Business Survey panel.
• Assist in designing and implementing marketing strategies to increase participation in regional business surveys.
• Track, analyze, and report on outreach efforts to increase campaign performance and measure impact.
• Assist in analyzing survey participant data to understand response trends and enhance the survey participant database.
• Conduct literature reviews on survey methodology.
• Participate in trainings on survey methodology.
