Job summary

University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW) is seeking a Business Services Coordinator to provide comprehensive administrative support within Research and Innovation. You will manage budgets, financial transactions, and payroll actions, while coordinating purchasing and travel processes in a fast-paced environment.

The role reports to the Advanced Business Services Coordinator, working a 40-hour week, Monday–Friday, at Main UNCW Campus in Wilmington, NC.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with Banner Finance and Banner HR preferred.
  • Experience with purchasing and travel processing.
  • Familiarity with UNCW policies and processes and state funding.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support for all departments within Research and Innovation.
  • Manage budgets, process financial transactions, and reconcile data.
  • Oversee purchasing, travel processing, cash receipts, payroll actions, and related duties.

Brief Summary of Work for this Position

The Business Services Coordinator provides administrative support for all departments within Research and Innovation. This Business Services Coordinator position reports to the Advanced Business Services Coordinator in Research and Innovation and will complete all administrative and fiscal functions as directed by the Advanced Business Services Coordinator within Research and Innovation. This work includes budget management, processing financial transactions, reconciliation of financial data, purchasing, travel processing, cash receipting, hiring students and processing payroll actions along with other assigned duties as needed. This position works closely with the Business Officer in Academic Affairs Resource Administration along with Business Affairs to make sure all policies and procedures are followed while timelines and deadlines are met.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
