Job summary

Malama Kai Technologies seeks a Business Research Analyst to apply analytical and quantitative methods that inform decisions for a Department of Defense customer. This role builds models and simulations and turns complex data into clear recommendations for Government leaders.

You will develop metrics, dashboards, and decision-support tools across cost, schedule, performance, and mission effectiveness, and prepare briefing materials for Government stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Eight years of professional experience in operations research or quantitative analysis in DoD or federal programs.
• Proficiency with analytic tools such as Python, R, MATLAB, JMP and with Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with modeling, simulation, or optimization methods.
• Familiarity with Simio, Arena, ExtendSim and visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.
• Experience with analyses of alternatives, cost analysis, and campaign modeling.
• Strong written and verbal communication, including briefing findings to decision-makers.

This role works with a highly dynamic team and builds models and simulations, conducts trade-off and effectiveness analyses, and turns complex data into clear recommendations for Government leaders. You will support studies, metrics, and decision-support tools across cost, schedule, performance, and mission effectiveness.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Apply operations research methods, including modeling, simulation, optimization, and statistical analysis, to support Government decisions.
• Build, validate, and run models and simulations, and conduct cost-benefit, trade-off, and effectiveness analyses.
• Analyze operational, logistics, readiness, and performance data to identify trends, gaps, and options.
• Support studies and analyses such as analyses of alternatives (AoA), capability assessments, and campaign or mission analyses.
• Develop metrics, dashboards, and decision-support tools that give leaders timely visibility into performance.
• Prepare and deliver briefings, reports, and technical documentation for Government stakeholders.
• Coordinate with Government, contractor, and cross-functional teams to gather data, validate assumptions, and align on the analytic approach.
• Document methods, assumptions, and results so analyses are repeatable and defensible.

Minimum Qualifications

• at least eight (8) years of professional experience applying operations research or quantitative analysis, ideally in support of DoD or federal programs.
• Proficiency with analytic and statistical tools such as Python, R, MATLAB, or JMP, and with Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with modeling, simulation, or optimization methods.
• Familiarity with simulation tools such as Simio, Arena, or ExtendSim, and visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Experience with analyses of alternatives, cost analysis, operational test and evaluation, or campaign modeling.
• Strong written and verbal communication, including experience briefing findings to decision-makers.

Education Requirements

• Associate's degree in a related analytical discipline.
  • We will accept four (4) additional years of related experience in place of the degree.

Preferred Qualifications

• Active U.S. military duty or intelligence experience.

Citizenship

• US Citizenship required.

Travel

• Within the NCR as needed, less than 10%.

Security Clearance

This position requires an active TS/SCI clearance. Applicants must meet the eligibility requirements for clearance level.

Work Location and Environment

This role is on site daily at a government facility located at Fort Washington, MD.

Compensation

The pay range for this position is $115,000 to $140,000 per year. This range is a good faith estimate of what we expect to pay for this role and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Actual pay depends on qualifications, experience, clearance level, contract requirements, and work location.
