Job description

Job Description Summary

The Business Process Re-Engineering Lead is responsible for advancing the Bank’s process re-engineering agenda by identifying opportunities to simplify, redesign, and modernize core workflows through approved automation and artificial intelligence solutions. The role partners with business leaders, enterprise AI governance stakeholders, Change Management, and Technology to evaluate current-state processes, identify inefficiencies, define future-state operating models, and determine where automation or AI-enabled workflows can improve speed, quality, consistency, controls, auditability, associate effectiveness, cost management, and long-term solution sustainability. This is a business transformation role with a strong focus on workflow design and the practical application of approved automation and AI tools. The incumbent is expected to translate business problems into AI-enabled process solutions, including Microsoft 365 Copilot agents, M365 Agent Builder solutions, ChatGPT-enabled workflows, prompt patterns, and reusable implementation playbooks. The incumbent is not expected to write production software or develop models, but is expected to build, test, validate, support, and monitor approved AI-enabled solutions. All work is performed within the enterprise and Bank’s AI governance framework.

Primary Functions of the Position
  • Partner with business leaders to identify, assess, and prioritize automation or AI use cases based on business value, feasibility, data readiness, and risk.
  • Evaluate automation and AI opportunities to ensure solutions are cost-effective, fit for purpose, sustainable, and supported by appropriate technology teams before implementation.
  • Assess data integrity, protection, access, and readiness requirements for automation and AI implementations to ensure solutions use reliable data, protect sensitive information, and are ready for controlled deployment.
  • Redesign business workflows so that automation or AI improves the underlying process rather than simply automating existing inefficiencies.
  • Lead adoption and change implementation throughout the Bank by moving projects from pilot to production, including readiness assessment, training, and change management.
  • Build the business case for each opportunity and recommend whether to advance, defer, or decline based on expected value, readiness, complexity, and risk.
  • Administer the AI business use case intake process for the AI Working Group.
  • Design, build, test, and deploy Microsoft 365 Copilot agents using approved employee tooling, including instructions, knowledge sources, and guardrails.
  • Test prompt execution, validate output quality, document limitations, and remain accountable for ongoing monitoring, support, and refinement of AI-enabled solutions.
  • Coach business associates and execute awareness campaigns that promote safe, effective use of automation and AI, including reusable patterns and templates for approved employee tools.
  • Define and report KPIs for AI adoption, agent usage, and value realization.
  • Ensure all use cases and deployed agents are inventoried and submitted for technology and governance review under enterprise AI policy and AI technology development standards.
  • Prepare and deliver updates to business leadership and governance committees.
Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a Business Discipline, Information Systems, or related field required. Hands‑on experience documenting current-state processes, designing future-state workflows, writing business requirements, building process maps, and supporting adoption of technology-enabled process change required. Practical experience using generative AI tools, prompt development, Microsoft 365 Copilot, M365 Agent Builder, ChatGPT, Power Platform, or comparable business automation tools required. Demonstrated experience taking initiatives from concept through production adoption required. Banking or financial services experience is strongly preferred; experience with emerging technology adoption in a regulated environment preferred. Relevant certification preferred (Microsoft Certified: AI Business Professional or AI Agent Builder Associate, Prosci ADKAR, CCMP, or PMP). Software engineering, data science, or model development experience is not required.

Essential Skills and Abilities
  • Strong business process analysis and workflow redesign skills, including the ability to identify inefficiencies, control gaps, manual workarounds, and opportunities for simplification.
  • Ability to assess data integrity, sensitivity, access, and readiness requirements to support safe and effective automation and AI implementation.
  • Strong control mindset with the ability to identify operational, data, technology, and adoption risks before solutions move into production.
  • Proven ability to frame and prioritize technology use cases and tie them to measurable business outcomes.
  • Hands‑on ability to build and maintain AI agents using authorized employee tools, including prompt design, knowledge source configuration, and output testing.
  • Practical fluency with generative AI tools and prompt design, without reliance on programming skills.
  • Working understanding of AI risks – hallucination, drift, bias, data leakage, oversharing, over-reliance on automation and the controls used to manage them.
  • Strong change management skills and proven ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; able to translate between business and technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical skills and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment; intellectual curiosity and comfort with ambiguity.
