Business Process Analyst

Mission

The Business Process Analyst at IDEA Public Schools is responsible for analyzing, designing, and improving organizational processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. This role will partner with cross-functional teams to identify bottlenecks, optimize workflows, and ensure alignment with organizational goals. The Process Analyst will leverage data-driven methodologies to recommend and implement innovative solutions that support the mission of IDEA Public Schools: to prepare students for success in college and citizenship.

Location:

This is a full-time remote position based in Texas with preference given to candidates who live in Austin, El Paso, Houston, Permian Basin (Midland/Odessa), Rio Grande Valley, San Antonio, and Tarrant County (Fort Worth), or who are willing to relocate.

Travel Expectations

Up to 15% travel expected. Travel to IDEA training events or step-back may be required.

Essential Duties

Additional Duties And Responsibilities

  • Assess existing processes to identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop process maps and documentation to visualize workflows.
  • Conduct gap analyses to evaluate alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define improvement goals.
  • Lead initiatives aimed at reducing inefficiencies and redundancies.
  • Apply Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies to streamline operations.
  • Collect and analyze data to inform decision-making.
  • Develop metrics and KPIs to track process performance.
  • Present findings and recommendations in clear, actionable formats.
  • Facilitate workshops and meetings to gather input from stakeholders.
  • Serve as a liaison between departments to ensure cohesive process improvements.
  • Provide training and support to staff on new processes and tools
  • Plan and manage process improvement projects from inception to completion.
  • Monitor project timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
  • Ensure projects align with organizational goals and deliver measurable outcomes.

Additional Skills

  • Proficiency in process mapping tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart) and data analysis software (e.g., Excel, Tableau).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in process analysis, operations, or a similar role.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in an educational or nonprofit organization is preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Occasional lifting of materials up to 25 lbs

What We Offer

Compensation & Benefits:

Salaries for people entering this role typically fall between $63,400 and $73,300, commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications and in alignment with internal equity. This role is also eligible for performance pay based on organizational performance and goal attainment.
