WHAT YOU'LL DO:

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Business Planning Financial Analyst. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing financial data, managing projects, and providing support to our client team to make informed decisions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Direct the organization's financial processes that support planning, reporting, budgeting, purchase orders, and accruals.
  2. Collaborate with managers, functional leaders & Finance Business Partners in developing quarterly and annual budgets/quarterly projections; including clear documentation of financial processes.
  3. Analyze financial variances for financial projections and budgeting.
  4. Manage both routine and advanced finance processes, including budgeting & cash flow management, enhancing management predictive reporting tools leveraging technology and best-practice workflow design, and supporting negotiations with key partners.
  5. Work closely with all leadership to support the long-term strategic planning process and an ongoing annual budget and financial plan.
  6. Complete work assignments by applying up-to-date knowledge in subject area to meet deadlines; following procedures and policies; collaborating with others to solve business problems; and communicating progress and information.
  7. Present recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities.
  8. Provide executive management with advice on the financial implications of business activities.
  9. Reinforce processes for long-term strategic planning, financial forecasting, budgeting, and reporting to leadership.
  10. Assist in improving the organization's financial performance through analysis of financial results against budgets and forecasts.
  11. Provide ad-hoc analytical financial support as needed.
  12. Ensure timely and accurate data inputs into the procurement system and continuously look for opportunities to improve processes.
  13. Assist in reviewing and approving purchase requisitions to ensure their quality aligns with procurement goals and objectives.
  14. Create and track budget codes to help monitor the department's financial performance.
  15. Ensure appropriate communication between the procurement specialist, business, buyers, finance, vendor manager, and suppliers.
  16. Assist in distributing and diversifying funds across teams to support the organization's procurement goals and objectives.
  17. Collaborate effectively across different organizational levels, functions, businesses, and geographies to understand procurement goals and objectives.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

  1. Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or economics or related work experience.
  2. MBA nice to have.
  3. Proven experience as a Financial Planner & Analyst.
  4. 3 - 5 + years of financial planning and business analyst experience with strong administrative skills.
  5. Expertise in finance best practices and ability to explain fundamentals to individuals at all levels within the organization.
  6. Hands-on experience with creating and modelling financial statements.
  7. Analytical skills including financial modelling, forecasting, and budgeting.
  8. Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications, with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and experience with procurement systems.
  9. Solid written and verbal communication skills.
  10. Strong facilitation, training, and troubleshooting skills.
  11. Strong attention to detail and highly organized.
  12. Superior analytical and modelling capacities.
  13. Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple workloads, priorities, and deadlines efficiently.
  14. Personal drive to start a project and see it through to completion.
  15. Work with key stakeholders in the strategic planning process and provide appropriate and timely reporting of results.
  16. Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work with individuals at all levels in the organization.
  17. Ability to effectively communicate financial issues to stakeholders and provide solutions.

This position is remote but the candidate must be located in the Bay Area, Austin, New York, or Seattle area. There may be instances where the candidate may need to come into the office for team events or get-togethers.
