Edson College seeks a talented candidate to join our dynamic Research, Initiatives, Support, & Engagement (R.I.S.E.) team in working with our faculty, research staff, and students to support and facilitate research and research expenditures. This position will perform post-award financial transactions, personnel tracking, account monitoring duties, and will work closely with our team, principal investigators, researchers, and departmental business staff. Post-award financial responsibilities include working with ASU’s Accounts Payables, Procurement, Travel, Purchasing Card, and Tax Services Offices. Financial transaction management duties include processing reimbursement payments, Workday personnel accounting updates, purchase order preparation and invoice processing, reviewing and approving of purchasing card expenses, travel requests and expense reports, contracting for goods and services, financial reports/data collation, and other financial transaction items as needed. The position will be expected to be able to navigate, understand, and communicate University policies and procedures.
$61,400 - $66,000 per year; DOE
Works to ensure audit compliance of unit’s sponsored projects to federal, state, sponsor, University, and ABOR policies. Provides researchers and staff with financial guidance, including problem solving assistance, and policy interpretation. Assists researchers with financial transaction management duties, which includes working with unit staff on processing reimbursement payments, purchase order preparation and invoice processing, and review and approval of purchasing card expenses, travel requests and expense reports. Ensures accounts and records are in compliance with pertinent university policies, procedures and regulations. Independently responds to or initiates correspondence regarding matters pertaining to assigned functions. Participate in unit staff meeting and other activities as related to Research Advancement administration. May work on special projects, as directed by the unit’s Research Advancement Manager. Other duties as assigned.
Demonstrated knowledge of the principles, practices, methods and techniques of customer service. Demonstrated knowledge of policies, procedures and requirements for financial and accounting management at ASU. Experience in problem solving, critical thinking, and time management skills; demonstrated evidence of ability to prioritize multiple tasks while producing accurate output; demonstrated evidence of meeting deadlines for multiple projects. Advanced Excel skills. Experience in budget development and expense forecasting practices. Experience in financial expense management functions and practices. Demonstrated working knowledge of ASU systems, such as Workday, Peoplesoft, My ASU TRIP travel system, ASU Reporting Analytics, and ORSPA Enterprise Research Administration System. Experience working both independently and as a member of a team, and in working collaboratively across units. Evidence of effective communication skills. Experience in handling sensitive/confidential information and tight deadlines and maintaining confidentiality.
Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse. Hybrid work schedule.
