Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Implements system requirements and performs routine data analysis to ensure data management objectives within a work unit are met.

Essential Duties
  • Translate requirements and acceptance criteria into detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts for new features and enhancements.
  • Execute manual functional, regression, and exploratory testing across releases to verify that features work as intended and existing functionality has not broken.
  • Identify, document, and reproduce defects with clear steps, expected vs. actual results, and supporting evidence (screenshots, logs) to support efficient triage and resolution.
  • Track defects through resolution, working with developers and Product Managers to confirm fixes and re-test as needed.
  • Support user acceptance testing (UAT) by preparing test scenarios, coordinating stakeholder participation, and consolidating feedback.
  • Maintain test case libraries and testing documentation so coverage stays current as products evolve.
  • Assess release readiness and communicate quality risk, defect severity, and open issues clearly to the Product Manager and other stakeholders ahead of go/no-go decisions.
  • Coordinate testing schedules and effort around release timelines and ASU's academic calendar to minimize risk during high-stakes institutional windows.
  • Develop working knowledge of the products under test, their user base, and ASU's academic operations to inform testing priorities and risk judgment.
  • Leverage AI in routine tasks and contribute ideas for using AI to improve the unit’s efficiency and overall performance.
  • Take responsibility for fostering a positive culture, upholding organizational values, and championing engagement in all its forms.
  • Collaborate across teams and actively participate in ET/ASU events and programs.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience writing and executing manual test cases and test plans against documented requirements or acceptance criteria.
  • Experience identifying, documenting, and tracking software defects through resolution.
  • Experience with functional and regression testing across multiple releases.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to reproduce and clearly communicate issues to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong written communication skills for test documentation and defect reporting.
  • Experience with test case management or defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail, Zephyr, Azure DevOps).
  • Experience coordinating or supporting user acceptance testing (UAT) with business stakeholders.
  • Experience testing web or SaaS applications, including cross-browser or basic accessibility checks.
  • Familiarity with agile/scrum release cycles and working within sprint-based testing timelines.
  • Experience supporting products in higher education, student information systems, or other enterprise/institutional software.
  • Demonstrated ability to model empathy, compassion, and emotional intelligence.

Position Salary Range: $56,900 - $70,000 per year; DOA

Location: Campus: Tempe. Funding: No Federal Funding.
