Job description

Obtain managed care and Medi-Cal or Medicaid authorizations, including bed holds. Assist with managing resident trust funds, including printing and distributing monthly statements. Supervise business office staff, including disciplinary measures. Maintain census and report status changes. Attend stand-up meetings as requested by the Administrator. Assist with Medi-Cal or Medicaid applications and prepare TARS as needed. Track Medi-Cal and Medicaid redeterminations. Participate in billing and payment processes, including preparing bank deposits. Undertake collection activities for bad debts.

Complete operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees and following up on work results. Assist with overall supervision and management of the business office staff.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong understanding of skilled nursing billing and payment; proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Preferably one year experience in a long-term care facility
Skills
  • Ability to read technical procedures and policy manuals
  • Effective communication skills to present information and respond to questions from managers and employees
  • Mathematical skills involving fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions
  • Problem-solving and reasoning abilities to interpret instructions and solve practical problems
Additional Requirements
  • Knowledge and experience with PCC preferred
  • Physical ability to use a computer for prolonged periods, frequently stand/walk, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform other physical tasks as described
