Base pay range

$65,000.00/yr - $80,000.00/yr

Summary:

The primary purpose of this job is to assist in the day-to-day accounting functions of the facility, following acceptable accounting and reimbursement principles related to nursing facility operations, under the direction of the Administrator, Director of Finance, or Accountant.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist in implementing daily accounting functions.
  • Implement policies and procedures for the accounting department.
  • Standardize work methods.
  • Forward invoices for approval.
  • Communicate with vendors regarding invoices.
  • Maintain records of charge slips, debits, credits, etc.
  • Monitor and collect accounts receivable; report delinquencies.
  • Assist in balancing accounts and preparing financial statements.
  • Prepare and mail statements.
  • Report on accounting functions.
  • Assist in bank reconciliations and trial balances.
  • Prepare financial and statistical reports.
  • Perform computer/data processing functions.
  • Develop and utilize reports.
  • Ensure resident admission contracts are signed and filed.
  • Follow resident fund accounting procedures and provide quarterly fund reports.
  • Assist in system changes.
  • Perform secretarial functions as needed.
  • Attend workshops and seminars to stay current.
  • Participate in mandatory in-service training.
  • Request repairs for office equipment.
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident information and report incidents.
  • Ensure residents' rights are upheld at all times.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum three years experience in bookkeeping or accounting.
  • Experience with Medicaid and Medicare.
Physical Demands:
  • Must be able to move intermittently.
  • Must speak and write English clearly.
  • Must lift/move up to 25 pounds, possibly up to 50 pounds.
  • Assist in emergency evacuations if necessary.
