The Business Office Manager oversees the Accounting and Human Resources functions, including recruitment, retention, new hire orientation, benefits administration, payroll, and general accounting duties. This position reports to the Executive Director and may supervise other staff members.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Maintaining basic knowledge of computer software and internet applications.
  2. Managing resident, business office, and employee files.
  3. Conducting new hire orientation and administering benefits.
  4. Assisting with resident billing issues and maintaining the ancillary charge worksheet weekly.
  5. Depositing move-in deposits and rents promptly.
  6. Sending monthly delinquent notices and following collection guidelines.
  7. Processing resident lease renewal letters.
  8. Preparing and reporting payroll accurately to the corporate office.
  9. Processing accounts payable timely and accurately.
  10. Maintaining confidentiality of proprietary, financial, and resident information.
  11. Monitoring and reconciling petty cash disbursements.
  12. Processing workers' compensation claims.
  13. Respecting confidentiality of office records and restricted information.
  14. Understanding safety and disaster plans.
  15. Participating in the Manager on Duty program.
  16. Attending community events, training, in-service, and staff meetings.
  17. Maintaining a safe working environment and practicing safe work habits.
  18. Maintaining a positive, professional demeanor with residents, visitors, families, and co-workers.
  19. Adhering to all policies and procedures of Senior Lifestyle Corporation.
  20. Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in Human Resources or Accounting preferred.
  • College degree preferred.
  • Experience in senior housing or long-term care preferred.
  • English fluency preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
