RBC Capital Markets LLC seeks a Director-level Business Manager to lead digital transformation and product development within Capital Markets Operations. You will own the OKR framework, KPIs, governance reporting, and ROI on transformation initiatives while managing budgets, vendor relationships, and cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

Capital Markets Operations is seeking a Business Manager, Director, to join the Global Head of Digital Transformation and Product Development. This is a strategic leadership role focused on driving operational excellence, digital innovation, and product development initiatives across our Capital Markets business. You will partner with senior leadership to streamline processes, enable technology adoption, and deliver solutions that enhance client experience and competitive advantage. This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of our operations while working at the intersection of business strategy, technology, and product development.

What will you do?

• Lead the development and execution of digital transformation roadmaps and strategic initiatives aligned with Capital Markets business objectives
• Establish and maintain prioritization frameworks to evaluate trade-offs across parallel initiatives, ensuring optimal business impact and resource efficiency
• Partner with product development teams to define requirements, prioritize initiatives, and ensure successful delivery of solutions that drive operational efficiency
• Manage cross-functional stakeholder relationships across business units, technology, and operations to align priorities and resolve complex challenges
• Define and own the team's OKR (Objectives and Key Results) framework, establishing clear, measurable goals across quarterly and annual horizons. Develop KPI hierarchies that cascade from enterprise objectives through team-level and initiative-level metrics, ensuring alignment and accountability at all levels
• Establish governance reporting cadences and formats for Digital Transformation & Product Development performance, including monthly leadership scorecards, quarterly business reviews, and executive-level reporting packages. Translate complex performance data into executive-ready insights with clear narrative, trends analysis, and recommended actions
• Champion data-driven decision making through development of advanced analytics capabilities, KPI frameworks, and real-time operational dashboards that provide actionable insights to leadership
• Own P&L accountability for transformation portfolio, including capital allocation, resource planning, and comprehensive value realization tracking
• Develop and manage business cases and financial models to support investment decisions and demonstrate ROI on transformation initiatives, ensuring rigorous financial governance throughout the initiative lifecycle
• Identify, assess, and mitigate operational and technology risks across transformation initiatives, ensuring appropriate controls and business continuity measures are embedded in all solutions
• Lead vendor evaluation, selection, and relationship management processes for technology and service providers, ensuring optimal value delivery and risk mitigation
• Oversee process improvement and optimization efforts, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve client outcomes
• Lead change management efforts to drive adoption of new digital tools, platforms, and ways of working across the organization
• Monitor industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for innovation and competitive differentiation
• Own communications strategy and delivery, including narrative development, briefings and progress updates, messaging frameworks, and tailored communications cadences across stakeholder audiences
• Foster a team culture that reinforces collaboration, innovation, and operational excellence
• Lead planning and execution of team engagement initiatives, town halls, and cross-functional forums that strengthen relationships across Digital Transformation and CM COO

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

• 12+ years of experience in capital markets operations, business management, or management consulting with demonstrated success driving transformation initiatives
• Strong financial acumen with proven ability to develop business cases, manage budgets, and demonstrate financial impact
• Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership skills with ability to influence and collaborate across all organizational levels
• Deep understanding of capital markets operations, processes, and client needs within investment banking, trading, or related divisions
• Advanced proficiency in data analysis and project management tools, with ability to synthesize complex information and communicate insights effectively

Nice-to-have

• Experience with digital transformation programs, technology implementation, or process automation in financial services
• Knowledge of emerging technologies such as cloud computing, AI/ML, or automation platforms and their application to capital markets operations
• Familiarity with Agile or other modern project management methodologies
• CFA, CPA, or other relevant professional certification

The expected salary range for this particular position is $180,000 - $250,000, depending on your experience, skills, and registration status, market conditions and business needs. You have the potential to earn more through RBC's discretionary variable compensation program which gives you an opportunity to increase your total compensation, provided the business meets its performance targets and you meet your individual goals.
