Job summary

Title: Business Manager

Location : St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, Conshohocken, PA

Position : Part-time, approximately 15-20 hours a per week with some flexibility in days/times.

Summary : The St. Mary’s Parish Business Manager is a key office team employee who reports directly to the Pastor and serves an important role in a growing and vibrant parish. This person assists the Pastor in fulfilling his day to day operational, administrative, and financial responsibilities and works in conjunction with the other office staff. The Business Manager has numerous responsibilities, listed below, as well as occasional ad-hoc duties that arise from parish events and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Human resources support including payroll, retirement, insurance, employee handbooks, and benefits.
• Insurance (Quadra) property
• Bookkeeping (Quickbooks), check writing, account reconciliation
• 1099 forms
• Oversee on online donations through VANCO
• Monthly quarterly annual financial reports
• Finance committee duties including preparing financials, attending two meetings annually, and keeping meeting minutes.
• Coordinate mass stipends accounting with office assistant
• Coordination with office staff.
• Be familiar with parish database of parishioners and donations.
• Help maintain parish calendar—catechism, homeschool groups, choristers, etc.
• Coordinate with Office Assistant on fire inspection, kitchen health inspection, etc.
• Assist in preparation of special events (such as: the fall parish picnic, Christmas party, Children’s summer program, etc.) in so far as the parish office is required, such as preparing checks, ordering rentals, maintaining financials and emergency contacts, etc.
• Assist pastor on contacting maintenance contractors i.e. scheduling HVAC work, plumbing repairs, etc. For capital projects assist and coordinate with pastor in bidding process according to the Archdiocesan policies. Note that pastor will mostly oversee and sign-off on the actual work of the contractors.
• Other duties as assigned by pastor.

Qualifications

• Previous related work experience preferred
• Knowledge of relevant office software, especially Quickbooks
• Ability to handle confidential, sensitive matters with tact, respect, and discretion required.
• Excellent communication skills, written and oral.
• Strong attention to detail
• Self-motivated with ability to work independently to accomplish tasks, but also to work well with others, showing flexibility and resilience
• Practicing faithful Catholic who loves the Church and serving other

St. Mary, located in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, is a Roman Catholic church and non-territorial quasi-parish served by the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter (FSSP) within the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Philadelphia .
