Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Redondo Beach, CA seeks a Business Management Manager – Manager Level 2 to lead program control for major space programs. The role emphasizes cost accounting, EVM, and superior financial performance in support of national security missions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of finance, accounting, business management or program control experience; or Master’s with 6+ years.
  • Active U.S. Government DoD Top-Secret security clearance at time of application, with SCI access
  • Leadership experience or people management experience
  • Understanding of DoD contracts, government Cost Accounting Standards, Commercial contracts, or FAR
  • Knowledge of EVMS as applied to major government contracts
  • Ability to comprehend and analyze complex problems and develop solutions

Responsibilities

  • Support proposal preparation, fact-finding and contract negotiations on a major capture as needed to ensure business management issues are represented as necessary
  • Evaluates business deals, including return on sales, payment terms, and cash flow expectations, to ensure they are favorable
  • Provide business oversight, interface with applicable stakeholders, customers and auditors and assist with Supplier Management Team to ensure sound business deals
  • Interface with diverse functional areas to ensure risks are understood and financial performance is achieved
  • Develop and motivate a productive staff in a team environment with excellent interpersonal, planning, presentation and organizational skills with focused emphasis on continuous process improvement
  • Other duties as assigned

As a Business Management Manager – Manager Level 2 (Mid-Level Manager), your role at Redondo Beach, CA will be pivotal in supporting missions critical to national and global security. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work. Ready to join forces with our visionary team? This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off. Our Business Management Manager will have oversight for all capture and program-related business management activities, including partnering with the Organizational Unit Director to ensure organizational financial goals are achieved, ensure superior financial performance and ensure the customer’s mission is achieved. This role will eventually be responsible for the management and development of a program control analyst team. To be successful in this role there should be an advanced understanding of Cost Accounting Standards (CAS); Federal Cost Principles including direct versus indirect, allowable vs. unallowable; Forward Pricing Rate proposals (FPRPs) development, negotiation and execution; understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM), Financial Planning to include Annual Operating Plan development, budgeting and forecasting to include Capital expenditures and inventory. Your Role And Impact

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of finance, accounting, business management or program control experience – OR – Master’s degree with 6+ years of finance, accounting, business management or program control experience
  • Requires an active U.S. Government DoD Top-Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI approval/access
  • Leadership experience or people management experience
  • Understanding of DoD contracts, government Cost Accounting Standards, Commercial contracts, or FAR
  • Knowledge of EVMS as applied to major government contracts
  • Ability to comprehend and analyze complex problems and develop solutions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree and 10+ years of related aerospace industry experience
  • Intermediate, to advanced-level of understanding of the following systems or software is beneficial: COBRA (or similar project management software), Cognos, SAP, S/4, Microsoft Excel, and Office Analysis
  • Working knowledge of Government financial CDRL’s
  • Experience working with Full Flow down Earned Value
