POSITION SPECIFICS
The Office for Research Information Systems (ORIS), a unit of the Office of the Senior Vice President for Research (OSVPR), seeks a Business Intelligence Specialist (BI Specialist) to strategically design, develop, and maintain business intelligence solutions. Supported solutions include PowerBI applications and reports, datasets, web applications, and other products focused on process performance and strategic reporting within the research enterprise.
Responsibilities: The Business Intelligence Specialist will:
Candidates with an understanding of the research lifecycle, research administration, or research compliance, and experience working with operational/financial data are preferred.
The successful candidate will be a champion for data integrity and user experience design and must be able to communicate data analyses and visualizations effectively to executives and non-technical stakeholders.
Applicants should have foundational knowledge of data management processes and techniques and a portfolio of well-designed data visualizations.
This is a technical role and therefore, experience and comfort with data modeling and visualization are critical. Proficiency with Microsoft Power BI or similar tools, Excel, and other Microsoft Office tools (PowerApps, PowerQuery) as well as the ability to write SQL queries is preferred but not required.
Work Arrangement: This position is eligible to work remotely within the US. Standard work times will be in EST.
