Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Business Intelligence Developer II to design, develop, and maintain BI solutions that empower data-driven decisions across the organization. You will translate business requirements into technical solutions and lead cross-functional data projects.

The role requires strong analytical skills, experience with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, QlikView), data warehousing concepts, and familiarity with DataOps and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).

Qualifications

• 5+ years BI, analytical, reporting experience.

Responsibilities

• Participates in design, development and maintenance of BI and analytics solutions through interactive reports, dashboards and self-service reporting.
• Performs analysis reviewing multiple data sets and relationships to support research and decisions.
• Translates business requirements into BI/Analytics solutions.
• Leads data-related projects involving cross functional teams.
• Supports data lifecycle with DataOps and data governance principles, ensuring quality and security.
• Identifies opportunities to expand data sets and BI tools, supports data lineage and coding.
• Provides technical support and training to end users on BI tools and reports.
• Mentors junior Data BI Developers.

Job description

The Business Intelligence Developer II is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining BI solutions that help the organization make data-driven decisions. This role requires strong analytical skills, strong proficiency in BI tools, and the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions as well as to lead projects involving cross functional, teams.

Essential Job Statements

Participates in the design, development and maintenance of BI and analytics solutions that transform data into insights through interactive reports, dashboards and self-service reporting capabilities.

Performs analysis including reviewing multiple data sets and data relationships to support research and business decisions.

Works in concert with other data practitioners and business teams to understand business requirements and translating those requirements into developing value-add BI/Analytics solutions.

Assists in leading data related projects involving cross functional teams.

Supports the data through its life cycle utilizing DataOps practices and data governance principles that ensure data quality, integrity, stewardship, security, literacy and adoption.

Works with team members by identifying opportunities to expand data sets and business intelligence tools to include additional data. Assists with data lineage and coding to support this function.

Provides Technical Support and training to end users on BI tools and reports.

Mentors junior Data Business Intelligence Developers.

Minimum Qualifications

Years and Type of Required Experience: 5+ years business intelligence, analytical, reporting experience.4+ years of experience with Data Lake, EDW and operational databases required.2+ years SQL experience.

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:Intermediate level knowledge of business intelligence tools and methodologies (Tableau, Qlikview, PowerBI, etc.).Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities to develop and to optimize BI solutions.Intermediate SQL skills.

Understanding data warehousing concepts and practices for managing large datasets.Experience working with Cloud technologies such as AWS/Azure/GCP.Experience with programming languages like Python or R. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work cross-functionally (Required proficiency)Ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical personas and make complex ideas understood.Ability to understand the long-term ("big picture") and short-term perspectives of situations.Ability to comprehend quickly the functions and capabilities of new technologies.

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred: Knowledge of data governance practices and data life cycle management preferred. Experience working with Healthcare data. Experience utilizing Agile methodology. Displays intellectual curiosity and integrity.
