Job Summary:

The Associate BI Developer will gain experience with reporting tools and the process of developing clear, concise, and accurate reports and dashboards. Using knowledge in various Business Intelligence software, data structures, and programming, and with critical thinking, the Associate BI Developer, under supervision, assists in enabling the organization to make data-driven decisions by converting data into dashboards and reports that are accessible and easy to interpret. The role involves supporting assigned business areas and reporting tools required for the work. Must demonstrate the ability to use BI tools (including reports and self-service dashboards) to non-technical audiences. The candidate should exhibit initiative, organizational skills, and the ability to inspire trust and confidence to maintain customer relationships.

Job Duties:
  1. Observe during consultation processes and document project requirements and scope with assistance from more experienced analysts.

  2. Collaborate with internal partners to design and develop reporting solutions and routine analytic studies to support business needs.

  3. Plan projects and complete requests with assistance from more experienced analysts.

  4. Provide time and effort estimates based on requirements gathering. Manage projects with supervision.

  5. Demonstrate working knowledge of source systems needed to support stakeholders and proficiency with related databases/data marts within the first year. Become familiar with the BI systems used at Geisinger.

  6. Develop, validate, and execute simple queries. Design and build basic reports/dashboards. Perform routine data analysis to answer business questions under supervision.

  7. Present analysis and reports to internal customers and stakeholders.

  8. Integrate basic visualizations into self-service reports/dashboards, modify complex dashboards, and offer visualization recommendations based on business goals and audience.

  9. Report and troubleshoot data quality issues during data profiling, testing, or validation.

Work is typically performed in an office environment. Travel may be required. The role requires compliance with organizational policies and procedures. Relevant experience may include related work experience and degrees (Associate’s Degree = 2 years; Bachelor’s Degree = 4 years).
